Saving
Tax Dollars
for
Worthwhile Investment
When we pay our taxes, we entrust the Town to spend it wisely.
You should be able to see your tax dollars at work.
I will fight to ensure that our tax dollars are going to real investments in our community. When a budget is put forth, I will speak with my constituents and justify spending directly. I will also work to find savings that will not effect our essential services and ensure taxpayers are getting a bang for their buck.
The province wants us to foot the bill for developers.
Development charges help us match our services to our growth (ex. grow our fire department), fix our roads, and build the infrastructure to accommodate. Unless projects are affordable/tax-effective, I will fight to make sure developers pay their fair share and that neighbourhoods are built for people, not for profit.

Small-Town Charm
"Small town living at its best" is our motto; let's honour it.
I will not let our sense of community fade as we grow.
Charities and not-for-profit organizations have been struggling post-COVID. It is time for the Town to take responsibility for building community, rather than leaving it to us. That is why I will support community-building programs like Hey Neighbour that get neighbours talking again and create spaces for small businesses/local organizations the opportunity to thrive.
I will also support our Community & Neighbourhood Grants Program that helps local organizations strengthen our sense of community, and further supports under the Community Improvement Plan that build our local economy by support small businesses.
A more cohesive community can lead to safer streets.
With policing being under Halton Region, Council has little power to directly implement crime-stopping measures. But, social deviance is often deterred by the possibility of shaming. Therefore, if our sense of community is strong, and we continue on knowing our neighbours, it can be the little things that can help keep our streets safe.
Fighting
Rapid Sprawl
and
Building
Tax-Effective
Development
Halton Hills is being forced to develop; let's do it right.
I will fight to contain the rapid sprawl that makes life more expensive for families and puts taxpayers on the hook.
I advocate for a more sustainable system, by rezoning underutilized spaces within our urban boundaries over expanding it and building on farmland.
If you grew up here, you should be able to stay here.
That is why I will advocate to build the missing middle and tax-effective development in our community, like mixed-use, that will give affordable homes to folks from all walks of life, and affordable rents for local businesses.
Furthermore, I will fight for those developments to fit in our neighbourhoods, be infrastructure-ready, and be a benefit to the residents around them.
Protecting
Farmland
and
Heritage
Agriculture is rooted in our community. We must protect it.
Southern Ontario has some of the best farmland in the world.
That is why I will fight to protect Halton Hills' farmland and support local farmers that contribute so much to our community.
I will advocate for programs like:

Farm Deferral Program, allows farmers to defer their tax payments until after the planting and growing season.

Agricultural Building Renovation Grant Program, gives rural farms with public access grants to encourage the restoration, renovation, and improvement of existing agricultural buildings.
I will also fight to protect our unique heritage properties and work to balance honouring our history and respect for owners by supporting programs like the Heritage Property Tax Refund Program, and the Heritage Property Grant, giving owners the means to properly maintain a piece of Halton Hills' history.
Accessible, Accountable, Effective Leadership
I have lived in Georgetown and Ward 4, my entire life.
I was the first candidate to knock on doors.
You deserve an accessible, accountable, and effective councillor who will not only be a community advocate, but also a policymaker.
I will be accessible, by answering your questions at Ward 4 town halls, coming to you at your door, and hearing from you while popped up in our parks, even when there is not an election around.
I will be accountable, by justifying the decisions I make on your behalf and explaining why I believe it will be best for our community.
I will be effective, by bringing home the experience I have educating kids, working in community projects coordination, volunteering with MPPs, and utilizing my education studying Canadian governance and policy. Councillors should not just be community advocates, they should be policymakers too.
I grew up and live my life in this ward. But, that does not always mean I know what my neighbours need fighting for. That is why you deserve leadership that will consult and hear from you regularly; I pledge to do so, because I will not forget about the people who elected me.
